Steel Sentinels Manufacturing is an LCP focusing on a new manufacturer with diverse mechs that often involve the newly-made Nuclear tag. Lancer mechs already run on reactors, so nuclear power is not new to them, but the Nuclear tag will signify that they use that power and its radiation in new ways.

Currently the following additions are included in the LCP:

  • 2 tags, Nuclear and Laser, that come with respective Talent trees and are applied to a lot of the SSM weapons, systems and mechs, providing interactions within the Manufacturer's arsenal.
  • Nuclear-tagged weapons and systems tend to favor Energy and Burn damage in area effects.
  • Laser-tagged weapons tend to be Line-weapons that can't benefit from bonus damage, but have the Sunspot mechanic: Adjacent enemies always count as exposed to their damage!
  • 2 Talent trees, Radiation Renegade and Solar Savant, respectively enhance Nuclear-tagged and Laser-tagged weapons and systems.
  • 8 new mechs that are aimed at filling in lesser-occupied niches.
  • SSM Camillus: A Launcher Artillery frame that can bring the powerful Death's Hand nuclear missile into the fight whenever it takes structure or stress damage.
  • SSM Traianus: A manoeuvrable flying Striker/Support frame that can share its stealth with allies it is transporting, while also being able to set up powerful Laser attacks.
  • SSM Cunctator: A flying hit-and-run Striker frame that can rapidly engage and disengage.
  • SSM Aegidius: A sneaky behind the lines Commando striker with an answer at most engagement ranges.
  • SSM Plinius: A glasscannon Artillery/Defender frame that marks enemies to exude its own adjacency effects from afar.
  • SSM Ricimer: A Controller hacker frame that tries to keep its enemies within its damaging radiation field.
  • SSM Constantinus: A Defender frame that gains in power and strength from having the high ground and losing structure.
  • SSM Caesar: An enormous size 3 Striker/Defender which can only bring Superheavy weapons into battle, but can bring two of them. (But not usually fire both, I know, I know, balance on this one is hard, but I like the challenge.)
  • All come with their own set of weapons, systems and mods that fit their playstyle and combine well with the rest of SSM's arsenal.
  • 6 Core Bonuses. 2 of these allow you to apply the Nuclear or Laser tag to other weapons, allowing them to benefit from SSM's interactions and the two Talent trees.
  • 1 absurdly powerful Exotic weapon. Think Apocalypse Rail but off the rails. Mostly made as an experiment, absolutely not meant as a common thing in play. I left it in because I figured it could make a decent plot device.

Currently none of these frames have art. I'm not a great artist. I just wanted to make a Lancer addon based on some wild ideas I had, and wanted to put them out there for other people to enjoy. If this does well, I could add art in the future. But hey, that means you're free to imagine these any way you want, right?

There's also no pdf, because I honestly prefer just using Comp/Con, especially since it integrates well into Foundry. If there's demand, I could look into making a proper pdf later on.

On balance: This is my first time homebrewing Lancer on such a scale, and as such some of the balance might be off. I've taken care to avoid most of the common homebrew pitfalls, but at the end of the day you only really know if something is off by playtesting it. That being said, I'll take all feedback into consideration for future updates, because I'd love this to be as good as it can be.
